Richard, a trained and exhibiting multimedia artist and advocate, is also the author of Recovered Not Cured: a journey through schizophrenia, 2003 and Ego and Soul, 2008 (egoandsoul.com).
This poignant film documents Richard’s art practices, artistic influences, relationships and activities, and features interviews with the artist, his family and a colleague.

The Cunningham Dax Collection, located in Melbourne, Australia, is one of the world’s largest collections of creative works made by people with an experience of mental illness and/or psychological trauma. With works dating from the late 1940s to the present day, this collection includes drawings, paintings, textiles, ceramics, mixed media objects and artist’s books acquired from clinical and non-clinical settings. 
The Collection’s mission is to promote widely a greater understanding of people who experience mental illness and/or psychological trauma, and to foster an appreciation of their creativity through the preservation and ethical presentation of their original works.
