Two celebrated actresses of two generations --Eva LeGallienne and Julie Harris -- reminisce about a legendary forerunner of an earlier time: Eleonora Duse. LeGallienne, who had seen Duse perform, wrote "The Mystic in the Theater", a biography about the great actress, and came to own many of her personal possessions, which she shows and explains to Harris. Includes a rare film clip of "Cenera" ("Ashes" 1916) showing Duse at the end of her career. Duse tried unsuccessfully to have this film withdrawn.
