From Pan Pan Theatre. From October 2004 to May 2005 the director of the project Gavin Quinn visited the homes of 100 actors – Irish, Polish, Norwegian and Dutch - and asked them to answer the question: Why do you think you became an actor? They were also asked to perform their first or favourite audition piece. Each response was filmed and recorded. They were briefed once by telephone and again immediately before the camera was turned on. They were then subsequently photographed. Each visit lasted no more than an hour. This 90 minutes film is the short version of a full 14-hour edit on seven DVDs made as an installation project. One - Healing with theatre- is a large scale performance project centred around the opportunity of facilitating one-to-one meetings between audience and performer and designed to create a fulfilling and lasting quality of contact. The effect created is both intimate and individual, the encounter is emotional and spiritual.
